About me

Lyle Railsback grew up between California, Colorado, Kansas, and Oregon. He studied painting and Japanese wood-fired pottery, earning a BA in Fine Art from George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon.

His first decade after university was spent cooking, waiting tables, working as a sommelier, and eventually buying wine in restaurants where he fell in love with food, wine, and travel. The next dozen years were spent traversing the globe for an importer of French and Italian wines. He now makes wines with his brother Eric in Santa Ynez, California, inspired by what they learned in Provence and Corsica.

He lives with his wife Victoria, daughter Simone, and dog Rocco in New York City.
